The Yorkshire office of leading global property consultancy Knight Frank has been appointed as the sole industrial agent for Hatfield Power Park at Junction 5 of the M18 near Doncaster.
Planning permission has just been granted for this significant new 95-acre development, which will create up to 600 jobs. The permission includes a new 2km road linking the Park directly to the M18 which opens up further regeneration development in Hatfield and Stainforth.
Owen Holder, Leeds-based partner in charge of industrial property at Knight Frank, said: "This is a very exciting development, which will enhance the growing reputation of the M18 corridor as one of the most attractive areas for industrial property in Yorkshire.
He commented: "We are delighted to have won such a prestigious instruction for award-winning developers Waystone, with whom we have worked successfully at Glasshoughton, near Castleford".
He explained: "The total development potential for the disused site now covers over 130 acres and is situated next to the working colliery and a new IGCC power station about to be developed by Powerfuels. Waystone plans to develop Hatfield Power Park for large commercial and industrial occupation. It will incorporate state of the art technology that is ideal for occupiers with large heat and power requirements.
Mr Holder added: "This unique development offers something different for the South Yorkshire market and is part of the larger regeneration picture for the DN7 area. It will provide a lifeline for the Hatfield and Stainforth areas
Hatfield Power Park will provide opportunities and synergies for industries and technologies with operational requirements that cannot be served from a more traditional business and industry park.
Owen Holder added: "Linking the site to Junction 5 of the M18 (Moto Services) will raise the profile and accessibility of the site significantly and will most certainly have a positive impact on potential occupiers seeking direct motorway access."
Flexible turnkey solutions are available to satisfy end user specification with leasehold and freehold options available for industrial occupation.
