Lothian Gateway

In conjunction with Hall Construction Services of Darlington, Waystone has been chosen by West Lothian Council to redevelop a contaminated former colliery site at Riddochhill near Bathgate.

Lothian Gateway already has detailed planning consent for a total of six 72,000sq metres storage and distribution units and a further 16,000sq metres of smaller scale business general industrial and distribution units.

The estimated cost of the re-generation of the site is £8-10m and a further £40m will be required for the development.

Work commenced in 2008 and the remediation and reclamation is almost complete, and the site ready to accept industrial and warehouse developments.

 

The site offers up to 82 acres of developable land available adjacent to J4 of the M8.

Uses include:


  • Class 4 - Business
  • Class 5 - General Industrial
  • Class 6 - Storage or Distribution                                                                                                                           

The site is suitable for:

  • customer’s with high power consumption requirements, such as databanks.
  • waste to energy projects with good access to the national power grid.

The developers are able to offer full turnkey packages and D&B services, but will also consider land only sales.

Availability of large quantities of water for extraction of heat or coal, or alternatively for filtration, and use as a high volume, low cost potable supply.
